Food Waste Action Week

The second week of March (6th-12th) was Food Waste Action Week, a campaign put on by the Waste and resources Action Program (WRAP) in the UK. To celebrate, we had a special edition of our monthly Waste Bites Lunch. We embraced the theme of "Win, Don't Bin" and each brought a plate to share that utilised leftovers or seemingly inedible parts of food. Investigators and students brought along some creative and delicious items to share. We had muffins and crumble made using apples foraged from public spaces, carrot-top pesto, relish made with the ends of tomatoes thrown out by a caterer, as well as excess produce from home gardens and ugly/discount fruit from the vege shop. Thanks to everyone who came along!
