Ethics of food waste

About this resource: The Ethics of Food Waste investigates the ethical implications of food waste by first considering the wider role of ethics in society before discussing general food-related ethical issues. It is proposed that an ethical food system strives to supply all individuals with a regular supply of varied and healthy food. Production, distribution and retailing would be carried out in an environmentally sustainable manner and animal welfare would be upheld. It is also suggested that food waste reduction is linked to reducing hunger, obesity and environmental degradation.
