Introducing our Food Waste Summer Students for 2023/24
We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the 2023/24 Food Waste Innovation summer studentship program at the University of Otago. Running for 10 weeks between November and February, this internship pairs students with sponsors, including the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor’s Office, Auckland City Council, and Waste-Ed by Kate.
This year's cohort is our most diverse yet, featuring 8 talented students spanning disciplines from Food Science to Botany and Entrepreneurship. Last week, we kicked off the program with a dynamic online hui, witnessing the enthusiasm as each student introduced their projects. Over the next few weeks, we'll be spotlighting each student on LinkedIn, providing insights into their backgrounds and aspirations.
Our students will showcase their research findings at the University of Otago’s Sustainability Office Summer Student Symposium on the 9th of February. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, whose support makes this program possible.
Join us on LinkedIn to follow the exciting progress of our students, and stay tuned for updates as we eagerly anticipate sharing the program's outcomes.
