Reducing food waste in flats: Weekly meal plans

Ashley Drummy.jpg

About: The infographics below are eight sets of weekly meal plans, which are designed to feed a flat of four students five dinner meals per week. The meals are healthy, affordable, and zero-waste. As well as recipes and shopping lists, the meal plans contain helpful information such as nutrition information, the cost per serving and food waste reduction tips. These meal plans were developed by Food Science and Plant Biotechnology student Ashlee Drummy, who was awarded a scholarship from Waste Management NZ in 2020 to complete a 10-week summer studentship, co-supervised by the Sustainability Office and Food Waste Innovation., to develop a resource to reduce food waste in flats. As well as in our resource centre, these meal plans are accessible to all students on the OUSA Student Support Hub.
