And that’s a wrap - food waste summer internship in reflection

The Food Waste Innovation Summer Internship for 2023/24 concluded on February 23rd, marking the end of the students' ten-week projects focused on reducing food waste. Here's a brief overview of the internship and the students' accomplishments.

This cohort was our largest and most diverse yet, comprising students from fields such as Botany, Entrepreneurship, Politics, and more. We are immensely proud of all our students and their achievements during this internship. They have expressed their enjoyment and have gained valuable research skills. Importantly, they have developed a deeper understanding of the food waste problem and its consequences. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our sponsors and supervisors for their financial and logistical support.

To officially close the internship, I'd like to share the link to the Pūhau ana Te Rā: Tailwinds Summer Student Seminar. Hosted by the Sustainability Office at the University of Otago, this seminar provided a platform for various summer internship groups to present their research on the broad topic of sustainability. You can find the final recordings in Our Resources Hub.
