Food waste policy and its significance to Māori

About this resource: This research was prepared as part of the completion of a Masters of Public Policy – Māori policy paper at the University of Auckland. The format is a visual policy brief to provide options for the question “How can the new draft waste strategy be designed to assist households to minimise food waste and contribute to addressing food insecurity within households - especially Māori households, where food insecurity is disproportionately high?” The infographic uses lessons from kāi ora Māori to show public policy can be utilised to help to to reduce household food waste and relieve food insecurity for Māori.
